The gambling debate is a hot topic at all times. In South Australia, 31% adults gamble per month and 11% gamble weekly (DFC 2006). In spite of the fact that gambling provides enjoyment for thousands, employment for hundreds more, it is evident that it equally leads to illegal and reprehensible behaviour and it even may ruin some people’s lives.
Firstly, the obvious advantage of gambling is that anybody has the chance to win a lot of money and then their lives could be changed forever. Such an intention and motive gives people a great desire to win money and spend a significant amount of time at gambling venues. And bit by bit, they have less control over their gambling. Consequently, for the same reason, most of those people who have a nice expectation of their life will gain a crippling addiction and lose a lot of money.
