The director of the department, Nkoatse Mashamaite, focused on how the largest regulated gambling market has evolved since 1994. That was the year when the country became democratic. On Wednesday 5th November 2018 the National Assembly passed the Gambling Amendment Bill which will now move to the National Council of Provinces for consideration and adoption.
